| GBA Flare Systems CSF sonic flares are single nozzle or multi-nozzle high pressure low radiation sonic flare tips designed to give superior performance where low radiation and smokeless combustion are required. Every effort has been made with CSF sonic flares to ensure longevity in service and to this end the critical parts are all fabricated from thick wall heat resisting alloy. In addition, a slatted windshield works to minimise flame draw-down in windy conditions. Lifetimes of 5 to 10 years are being achieved with GBA Flare Systems CSF sonic flare tips. For most applications the GBA Flare Systems CSF high pressure sonic flares are designed with multiple sonic nozzles. The use of multiple sonic nozzles increases the gas / air interface area thus improving the overall flare tip performance in terms of lower emitted radiation, shorter flame lengths and lower noise compared with single nozzle sonic flare tips.
The unique design of the CSF sonic flare tip nozzle channels the gas through a narrow annulus thereby maximising the gas / air interface and consequently entraining more primary combustion air than conventional flare tips. This translates into a highly pre-mixed flame that radiates less, and will be smokeless for a greater number of applications and flow conditions.
It is possible to incorporate an LP flare tip within the windshield of CSF sonic flares. This enables a single flare tip to used for both HP and LP flare relief minimising flame impingement and consequent damage between flare tips.
To obtain the benefit of an angled flare the CSF sonic flare nozzles can be inclined while the body of the flare tip remains vertical; significantly longer life is achieved compared with a fully inclined flare tip. |
